Occoneechee State Park Program
Autumn Canoeing Adventure 10:00—2:00
Enjoy the fall season on an unforgettable canoeing adventure at Occoneechee State Park. The adventure starts with a milelong
wagon ride down the Panhandle Trail. We’ll stop on an isolated part of the trail to access the water. Once on the water,
we will explore remote coves on Buggs Island Lake. This is the perfect opportunity to observe wildlife and enjoy the fall
season during this leisurely 3-mile paddle. All canoeing equipment is provided. You’ll need sturdy water shoes and appropriate
clothing for the weather. Your guide will have dry bags for your extra clothing and gear. We will have to carry canoes
through the woods a short distance to access the water. Please bring water and snacks. Basic canoeing instruction is available
for those new to canoeing. Space is limited, so please pre-register at the visitor center or call 434-374-2210.
